BlueTrace Sales Operations & Marketing Lead

The BlueTrace Sales Operations & Marketing Lead will support our growing sales team by providing the lead generation and operational support we need to build an efficient and effective go-to-market engine. 

BlueTrace is a venture backed Seafood Technology startup. We’re reinventing traceability for the seafood industry–to make the industry more efficient, sustainable and safer for consumers. Today, our solutions help shellfish businesses large and small save time and comply with food safety regulations. Our plans include expanding the solution to the rest of seafood and adding new modules to help our clients embrace the power of technology.   

We’re a highly experienced group of technology professionals who are passionate about helping seafood businesses succeed.

Who are we looking for?

  • High degree of comfort working in an online, remote work culture using tools like GSuite, Slack, and Zoom -- transparency and communication is critical.
  • Significant experience working within a sales organization, including managing a pipeline, solving funnel friction at various points, and with outside and inside sales.
  • You are data-driven and understand how to measure performance of marketing tactics and how to optimize based on what you’ve learned.
  • You possess outstanding verbal and written communication skills and are comfortable authoring marketing emails, blog posts, social media posts, or press releases.
  • Experience in digital marketing, particularly in email marketing, inbound marketing and thought leadership (e.g. internal blog or external trade articles), and social media. 
  • You are comfortable using tools like Canva (or similar) to craft display ads, social posts, or direct marketing materials, but wouldn’t call yourself a designer.
  • You have a deep sense of personal responsibility and take complete ownership for the success of the campaigns you’re assigned. 
  • You are a hungry learner and enjoy tackling challenges that force you to discover new concepts or skills.
  • You are comfortable working with minimal guidance, and under conditions of uncertainty or ambiguity. You can easily adapt when a plan changes.

What you'll do:

  • Own the operations of the sales pipeline in Hubspot.
  • Responsible for the accuracy of sales activities in Hubspot so the business can understand where there may be sales conversion funnel issues at a moment's notice.
  • Develop and maintain high quality distribution lists of customers and/or potential customers for product marketing and sales outreach via email. 
  • Attend trade shows to build relationships and awareness of BlueTrace in the broader market.
  • Lead speaking engagements at trade shows and other industry events to promote seafood traceability and the benefits of the BlueTrace software for the industry.
  • Own inside sides conversion for Distributor led growth: meaning when a distributor brings us their vendors to convert, you lead getting them from the top of the funnel to using the software. 
  • Develop, implement, and track marketing campaigns (typically through email, but may also include website posts) to train customers on new features or offerings.
  • Manage and create content for all social media channels, monitor activity and provide analytics.

Bonus points if:

  • You’ve worked in a seafood company
  • Worked in a SaaS company
  • Worked in a sales operations role in the past
  • Have experience marketing in any of these spaces: food, seafood, shellfish, supply chain

Compensation & benefits:

  • This is a full-time, remote position that will be compensated using an agreed upon salary.
  • There are no benefits offered for this position.
  • There is a potential for commission on the inside sales that are executed.
